Meal Of Heart @ Summer House Cafe

Ok so I am diversifying my blog, I love fashion but I also love going out and showing off my style. So I thought why not share that with you too. Fashion is an expression of myself and I always dress for the occasion. This occasion was a chilled monsoon season kind of a Saturday. The type of day where you just want to be relaxed dress comfy and hide away with good company and even better food.

So, I headed with my friends early afternoon to summer house cafe (Recently opened in lower parel, Mumbai) Open every single day of the week with interesting events happening. This got my interest and I called the cafe manager Mr Imran Patil who guided me through everything, as he mentioned -
Fridays and Saturdays they call guests dj to light it up for the weekend in mumbai.
Sunday is a salsa night ( bring in your partner or find one 😁 )
Mondays for Karaoke ( come out of shower now )
Tuesdays for stand up comedy (good end to a heavy day i'd say ) ,
Wednesdays is a ladies night (yes, utilise this ladies at your best 😉)
Thursdays cafe is planning to get some live bands ( pass this info to the needed ones , please)

We ordered a variety of starters to share amongst each other.
Jalapeno cheese poppers
Veg mezze platter
Non veg mezze platter
Mustard curry patta prawns
Bbq stuffed soya sticks ( only done in this cafe all over mumbai ,marked by cafe manager Mr Imran)
Nachos with cheese and salsa
Bbq sausage wrapped in bacons
Summer salad with fresh pineapple ( chefs favourite )
Americano cheesy spring rolls
Imagine how hungry we were to be ordering this much starters hashtag no regrets.
Being a Delhi girl it was a refreshing reminder of home to eat those soya sticks , Done so perfect !
The non veg amongst the group were very happy with the sausage wrapped in Bacon dish, which i am told by a friend who is Welsh that the name for this dish in London is pigs in blankets.

With starters out of the way and some people already saying they are feeling a bit full (It wasn’t the massive bowl of nachos we just couldnt stop eating honest……..Okay maybe it was the nachos swimming in cheese). We delayed in oredering our main course, this is the best bit advice I could ever give when going out for a lazy social with friends, Don't order all your food in one go, order your starters then see what your heart desires and if your stomach will allow. We used the gap to have a little look around the place - The whole space is done quite spacious and has three kind of seatings , Sofa , Dine table and Long bar style. We went for sofa as it was the lazy afternoon for us.

Moving ahead , their upper section is very interesting which is divided into two for private parties and small events ,small section can hold up-to 30 people whereas bigger one can hold up-to 60 people.( really wouldn't mind having this for my birthday!) with a connecting terrace from both the sections which is utilised as smoking area.
as Mr Imran showed me around he also gave an info that corporates can avail 15% of discount on food against their active working ID's.

We extened our break between meals and once we got to the bar with a huge selection of drinks from virgin cocktails to Craft Coctails specifically invented by them is a talk in their drinking menu , as the manager said they are very unique in their own way and says blow my socks off is the fastest moving cocktail also a good variety in single malts and very fancy beer tap for fresh domestic and international beers added that some people are very conscious about their diets and are restricted to it as for them they have home made fresh carrot , beetroot , orange and more juices.

We sat back on the comfy sofas in the corners carried on our discussions about a million topics, passing time waiting for our stomachs to tell us we are hungry again. It wasn't too late before we called the manager back over, who was more than helpful and made sure that our glasses were never empty.
Drum-rolls the mains came 🙋
Soya Pav (the best thing i have ever had, keema pav lovers might want to dig in it just like my friend)
Thai veg curry
Keema pav
Sun-dried , cherry tomato and fresh basil pizza
Chicken kra pao with sticky rice

Since we were into every bite , my friend wanted to call chef to know what goes down in the kitchen. Chef Rohan was very easy and friendly to speak about the making, He mentioned that its a basic culinary and they make in-house sauces and pastes for the dishes on the menu and its gluten free with no msg.( who wouldn't wanna eat this food knowing this)
Chef too mentioned the soya stick dish is only found here all over mumbai and soya goes through a process to get that perfection on your plate this is specially done by chef. He adds that his favourite is the summer salad with fresh pineapple as he has a sweet tooth.
We digged in to our mains with the satisfaction of hygiene and fresh food !

With that the good music kept the space up and in the high vibes.

Chef gave us complimentary Mega brownie sunday mug !( I believe in his sweet tooth now 😜)

A happy note for you -

Edgy Summer - Fall Vibes

In the fashion world which is all about the brands and labels, designers stand out differently. So, I collaborated with one of my good friends and an excellent designer Vichitra Amit (Vichitra design studio). Keeping in mind my personal style and her design skills, we picked up this dress for me which is printed pink crop top and an olive green raw silk skirt. Picking up a garment from a designer has its own pros as the dress is well tailored, the fit can be customised for you and there can be minor alterations which can bring in major change. Now, coming back to my look which goes perfectly with the current seasonal vibes which are somewhat hanging between the summers and fall. Pink color which gives a vibrant summer look and the olive green from those fall vibes match great together. I wore the cold shoulder and tucked in the top as i wanted to look elegant and wanted to show my waist line which makes me look taller. I paired it up with golden

Cheap Thrills

Everything is moving so fast , And so is Fashion. Trends are moving quickly. Before you can actually decide to buy something , something else is already out in the Fashion market . Most of us (including me) , practically cannot be spending thousands or dollars on one single piece. Which you can maximum wear it for like four times, as you don't want to repeat and also don't want to spend unnecessarily for something which is only going to be in trend for a short span . The philosophy of quick manufacturing at an affordable price is used by large retailers as H&M , Zara , Topshop Etc . Fast fashion has also become associated with disposable fashion because you can carry a designer product to a mass market at a relatively low price. Girls , you don't really need big bills to look good . Sometimes we should let the Fast fashion (cheap fashion ) thrill everyone around you . Where thrills are good , you really don't need to spend much . The Niche thing nev

My Summer Is Orange

Summer trends this year have again varied from pastels to white. Following the summer trends i thought of wearing a subtle orange backless dress. I paired this dress with black bag and black heels. Most of the times I end up buying dresses only because of the color , And then i find nothing to pair it up with, In such cases , You can pair it up with either black or white depending upon your look. Summer clichés are all about those beautiful colors , minimalist make up and skin show. I tried to incorporate all these in my look to give a strong summer vibe.                                       By the way did you know Orange is the only color from spectrum whose name was taken from an object, The popular fruit - The Orange .
